CLAIMING THE WORLD RECORD
Was 2011 Whack & Roll nation’s (world’s) largest, single day 9 Wicket Croquet tournament? Valid challenges invited!
Our research, finding no other claim to this title, led us to file for for the following Guinness World Record.
Guiness claim text: Mennonite Historians of Eastern Pennsylvania hosted a 9 Wicket Croquet Tournament (Familiar backyard variety) managed by Croquet Your Way believed to be the biggest single day event of its kind ever held, in terms of number of players. 150 players participated in the event consisting of 2 elimination rounds, a semi final and a championship round. Tournament was held Saturday June 4, 2011 in Harleysville, PA, USA. In this multi charity event, the winning organization’s team claimed a $5000 first prize. The event was held under the auspices of the United States Croquet Association. Managing organization: Croquet Your Way, York, PA
Big disappointment: Guinness seems to accept only future attempts, not filings for past ones. Awe shucks!
